One Day Mysore to Wayanad Tour by Cab

Hi there, I am Bani from Delhi. Me and my friends are planning to make a 9 days trip to Kerala during our holidays. So we are looking for someone who can give us information on the major tourist destinations in Kerala which can’t be missed?

Thanks
Bani :)

Hey Bani.. This is Ann here from Kerala. I am really happy to know that you and your friends choose my place for spending your vacation. Being a native also i am so confused to suggest places for you. In Kerala every place is equally beautiful (i hope you heard about the phrase God’s Own Country) There are so many wonderful places in Kerala.

But it's difficult to cover all the places in a short period. Depends on your time, budget and interest you can decide on which places are you going to visit. I can suggest some of the famous places for you:

Alappuzha / Alleppey is the one place you can't miss in Kerala. Alleppey is the one of the major centre of backwater tourism. You can enjoy a relaxed time in the backwaters of Alleppey in the traditional houseboats. Not only this Alleppey is also interesting with its beaches and coir industry which will be a different experience for you. You can plan to spend a day or two at Alleppey.

Cochin is another place i would like to suggest. Kochi / Cochin is a port city and has so many attractive places. Even taking a casual walk through the town is an amazing experience. The beaches, backwaters, colonial buildings, palaces and culture of Cochin will be a fun filled and exciting experience for you and friends. You can't resist the charm of this wonderful city. You can plan to spend a day or two at Cochin.

Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala is another place you must see during Kerala tour. Trivandrum is also known as Thiruvananthapuram. It's a city of temples. So many attractive places are there in Trivandrum. Kovalam, the renowned beach is in Trivandrum. Beaches and backwaters are the prime attractions of this place. Visiting the museum and palaces in Trivandrum gives you an idea about the wonderful culture of this place. Again a day or two at Trivandrum.

Need a change from this? Something peaceful and relaxing ? Then move to Kumarakom, a small cluster of islands. Kumarakom will be a different experience from the previous places. Bird sanctuary is the main attraction in Kumarakom so don’t miss it. Also enjoy the backwaters in here. Plan to spend at least 2 days here. Thekkady, Munnar and Wayanad are some of the exotic hill stations in Kerala which worth a visit. The journey to these hill stations itself is an amazing experience. They offer so many attractive spots.

Munnar is one of the most famous hill station in South India. Never miss a chance to visit Munnar. Enjoy the moments maximum. I think i have covered some of the most popular destinations in Kerala. You can plan 1 or 2 hill stations from above and spend 2 to 3 days at each of those places. This is not the end there are so many other places like Calicut, Muzhappilangad - the driving beach, Kasargod etc.

If you are interested you can make your visit even more wonderful with some of the special experiences of Kerala like Ayurveda and the art forms. An Ayurvedic massage in Kerala will rejuvenate yourself. Before leaving don’t forget to taste the delicious Kerala food without which your Kerala tour is not completed. Hope i gave you some idea about the places. Good luck and have a safe journey.

Regards
Ann

Hey Bani... I am Hima from Hyderabad. Last year we visited the major places in Kerala. It was the most amazing trip in my life. I agree with Ann completely. You can’t miss any of those places she mentioned above. Also i would like to suggest some other beautiful places.

Varkala beach near Thiruvananthapuram is the one place. The Papanasam beach in Varkala is just amazing. Silent Valley National Park is another place. Try to go to these two places if possible. Kannur hill stations, Kuttanad Backwaters and Marari beach is some other places which i really loved.

If you have enough time these are some spots i would like to suggest. Ann has covered the complete list of places, apart from that there are some other things to be taken care during Kerala tour. Although the crowd here is friendly and helping they are little conservative too so try to avoid exposing clothes and public display of affection. These are not widely accepted in Kerala.

While using public transport be little careful some people try to become over friendly. Be a little cautious on this things. Apart from this Kerala is a wonderful place. Wishing you a rocking vacation.

All the best
Hima
